Autism Diagnostic Evaluations 

RMC Counseling accepts individuals age 6+ with fluent speech (can speak in full sentences) for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) testing/evaluations.

Autism testing / evaluation is a detailed, multi-step process designed to provide accurate assessments. On average, the process takes approximately 3-4 appointments to complete.

Here’s a breakdown of the key steps involved across the sessions.

1. Intake: Hannah, our evaluator, collects extensive and essential history and background information.

2. Assessments and Questionnaires: This includes various evaluation scales and questionnaires to gather comprehensive data.
   

3. Parent/Guardian Interview: A critical part of the evaluation involves a thorough interview with the parent or guardian. (For individuals 18 years or older, this step is optional, but highly recommended for deeper insights.)

4. Report and Recommendations: The final stage involves the evaluator scoring and interpreting the results. This culminates in a detailed evaluation report with tailored recommendations. The report and recommendations can either be discussed in person or via phone.

This thorough approach ensures an accurate understanding of the individual’s needs and supports an accurate diagnosis.

Depending on the age of the individual, a variety of standardized instruments will be used. Examples including:

• ADOS-2

• ADI-R

• SRS-2

• ABAS-3

• PHQ-9 / PHQ-A

• GAD-7

• VADRS

• CAT-Q

• SIAS

Generally, we can schedule the evaluation within 1-3 weeks.

Our appointment options for testing are on Tuesdays or Thursdays.

Yes! RMC Counseling currently accepts SelectHealth and EMI Health insurance for evaluations. We can also provide you with a statement to submit to your insurance provider for possible partial reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits.

The private pay rate for all necessary evaluation sessions is between $1,400 and $1,900.
