Mercedes Butterworth (she/her) is an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Westminster University and a Bachelor’s in Global Studies from UC Santa Barbara.
She works with adults facing grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, bipolar disorder, suicidal thoughts, and substance use. Her approach is collaborative and grounded in the belief that each person has the capacity to heal, grow, and create meaningful change. Drawing from existential and humanistic perspectives, Mercedes helps clients deepen self-understanding and reconnect with their inner strength.
Her experience spans outpatient, IOP, and residential settings, with specialized training in domestic violence treatment, psychedelic integration, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP). She also serves on Utah’s Maternal Mental Health Committee, supporting family wellbeing across the state.
Mercedes is passionate about creating a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Utah’s wild places, making art, and spending time with her sweet dog, Scarlett.
