Mercedes Butterworth holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Westminster University and a Bachelor’s degree in Global Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Mercedes supports adults and young adults navigating grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, bipolar disorder, suicidal ideation, and substance use. Her approach is collaborative and grounded in the belief that each person has the capacity for healing, growth, and meaningful change. She draws from existential and humanistic frameworks to help clients deepen self-understanding and reconnect with their inner strength.
Her clinical experience includes work in outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), and residential treatment settings. She has received specialized training in domestic violence treatment and psychedelic integration support.
Mercedes is committed to creating a therapeutic space where clients feel truly seen, supported, and empowered to move toward the life they want. Outside the therapy room, she finds joy in exploring Utah’s deserts and mountains, building community, making art, and spending time with her sweet dog, Scarlett.
