Marta Gradilone Rodriguez - Therapist Intern

Marta Gradilone Rodriguez is a clinical mental health counseling intern who weaves together her passion for working with children, village life, and transformative education. Originally from Brazil, she grew up across seven countries, an experience that shaped her global perspective and deep respect for cultural diversity. After obtaining her master’s degree in education, she spent 12 years immersed in intentional communities and ecovillages focused on sustainability, relational intimacy, and cultural renewal. During this time, Marta led workshops and support groups, fostering connection and exploring ways to build resilient, interconnected communities.

Deeply inspired by ancient animist wisdom and the belief that the world is alive and whole, Marta is on a journey to integrate these values into modern life and her therapeutic work. In her current counseling practice, she empowers children and families through trauma-informed, play-based, and person-centered approaches, drawing on her background in Waldorf education, social-emotional learning, restorative practices, and nature-based education to foster resilience and connection. She believes in the potential of holistic education and community-based practices as tools for personal and societal transformation.

Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, Marta welcomes clients from diverse cultural and international backgrounds. She is a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions and continues to explore holistic and symbolic therapies, such as sand tray and mindfulness, aspiring to integrate these into her clinical work as she grows as a counselor. Outside of her professional life, Marta enjoys time in nature, movement practices, and nurturing meaningful connections with her community.

Karolanne Carter, LCMHC is Marta’s clinical supervisor.
