Marianne Lentz, CSW - Therapist
Marianne (she/her) believes that healing relationships are often the main agent for meaningful change. In the first few sessions, she aims to create an environment supportive of healing relationships by engaging clients with curiosity about the way they experience problems in their lives and the changes they hope therapy can achieve. Together with clients, she collaborates on the direction and pace of therapy that fits best for the individual client and their current needs.
Marianne utilizes various modalities, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) as she seeks to help clients build upon their inner strengths and resources in order to reduce their distress while increasing their sense of satisfaction and harmony with themselves, others, and the world around them. Marianne enjoys working with children, teens, adults and couples and incorporates mindfulness and self-compassion practice into most therapy sessions.
Marianne’s therapeutic work spans a decade and includes school and residential settings as well as outpatient mental health and substance abuse settings. Marianne received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Utah. When she’s not working, Marianne enjoys hiking in the Salt Lake mountains, baking, and spending time with her husband and three daughters, dog, and cat.
