Liz Bogus, ACMHC - Therapist
Liz is passionate about supporting individuals who have a strong desire for personal growth and change. She has experience working with adults, adolescents, and children navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, and life transitions.
Liz’s approach to counseling is humanistic and person-centered. She is committed to understanding the unique perspectives and experiences of each individual, as well as the ways in which they are impacted by social conditions and systems. She works collaboratively with clients to create space for self-exploration, discovery, and healing. She supports clients at their own pace, as they empower themselves to become who they want to be and create the life they want. Based on the specific needs of each individual, she draws upon her education and training to utilize various modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness-based therapy, and Positive Psychology.
Liz received a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Business with a minor in Sociology from Arizona State University, and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Westminster University. In addition to her master’s degree, Liz earned a graduate certificate in Adventure Therapy from Westminster University, and she enjoys bringing this education into her work with people who are drawn to the idea of adventure and the positive effects it can have on well-being.
After growing up in Utah, Liz spent more than a decade living all over the country while pursuing a career in athletics. She is happy to be back home in Salt Lake City, where she enjoys being in nature, exploring the city, spending time with family and friends, and going for walks with her pup, Dottie.
