Justin Hubbard

CSW, Therapist

Justin (he/him) is passionate about meeting individuals where they are at and believes healing happens in safe, supportive relationships. He values authenticity, collaboration, and creating a warm, affirming environment where clients feel accepted and understood. Justin works with children, adolescents, and young adults to support emotional regulation, self-understanding, confidence, and healing. He strongly believes in caregiver collaboration and values involving caregivers in the therapeutic process to help support long-term growth and connection within the family system.

Justin’s work is informed by the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) framework and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He approaches therapy from a trauma-informed and client-centered perspective, recognizing the importance of building safety and regulation before processing difficult experiences. He often incorporates developmentally appropriate and play-based interventions when working with youth and values creating a space where clients feel empowered to move at their own pace. Justin is also passionate about providing LGBTQIA+ affirming care and creating an environment where individuals feel safe being fully themselves.

Justin comes to RMC Counseling having worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and families navigating complex family dynamics, attachment and developmental trauma, substance use, anxiety, identity exploration, and other mental health concerns in both outpatient and residential settings. He believes the therapeutic relationship can be one of the most important parts of healing and strives to provide a nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported.

As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community who grew up in a rural Idaho town, Justin understands what it can feel like to not fully fit into the expectations or environments around you. These experiences helped shape his passion for becoming a therapist and providing a supportive space for individuals who may feel misunderstood, out of place, or alone in their experiences. Justin received his undergraduate degree from Western Governors University and his Master of Social Work from Boise State University.

Outside of therapy, Justin enjoys spending time outdoors, landscape photography, arts and crafts, and spending time with his dog, Duke, as well as friends and family.

Hannah Wilhelmsen, LCSW is Justin’s clinical supervisor.
