Jessie Buter, LCMHC, NCC - Therapist

Jessie (she/her) believes that we can solve problems by creating new solutions and coping strategies to promote positive change and growth. Jessie’s goal is to assist her clients in their personal growth by creating a safe, non-judgmental, and affirming space.  Jessie specializes in working with teenagers and young adults experiencing life transitions, depression/mood disorders, personal stressors/emotional dysregulation, relationship issues, and those who identify as LGBTQIA+. Jessie treats each individual uniquely with a variety of techniques, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solutions-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Person-Centered Therapy. Jessie’s style is genuine, relaxed, and supportive. 

Jessie comes to RMC from Chicago where she worked in the private practice setting with primarily LGBTQIA+ young adults.  Prior to that, she worked for 7 years in residential treatment and partial hospitalization day treatment facilities with at-risk youth struggling with behavioral issues, mood disorders, and trauma. Jessie received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Grand Valley State University and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. In her free time, Jessie enjoys hiking, fishing, woodworking, and biking.

Jessie is in-network with SelectHealth, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and EMI Health plans. Jessie’s private pay rates are $185.00 for intake sessions and $160.00 for follow-up sessions.
