Jennifer Markelz

Jen (she/her) holds a BS in Neuropsychology from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Utah. She has experience working with adolescents in wilderness therapy, adults in private practice, and six years in chronic pain and substance use research using Mindfulness-Oriented Recovery Enhancement (MORE).
Jen creates a trauma-informed, client-centered space grounded in presence and empowerment. She supports clients navigating chronic pain, trauma, high achievement, anxiety, grief, and relationship challenges. Jen is LGBTQIA+ and identity-affirming.
Her integrative, mind-body approach draws from MORE, Polyvagal Theory, ACT, Internal Family Systems, and Emotion-Focused Therapy. Using somatic and values-based methods, Jen helps clients access safety, connection, and meaningful change while considering the broader impact of family, community, and culture.
Outside of work, Jen enjoys rock climbing, dancing, creating art, and spending time in nature with her community.
