Janice Bang Eckman, MSN, PMHNP-BC is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who believes in providing compassionate, holistic care to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Her approach is rooted in collaboration, meeting patients where they are while helping them work toward the future they envision for themselves. Janice values self-awareness, resilience, and personal empowerment, striving to create a supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and encouraged throughout their mental health journey.
Janice brings a diverse clinical background with prior nursing experience in medical intensive care, medical-surgical care, and care management. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from Wilkes University and is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Her broad healthcare experience allows her to approach treatment with an understanding of the connection between physical and emotional well-being.
In addition to her nursing background, Janice earned a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources & Environmental Science from Purdue University, which continues to shape her perspective on whole-person wellness. She is passionate about integrating mind-body health with the role environment, lifestyle, and daily habits play in overall emotional well-being. Fluent in Korean, Janice values creating culturally responsive, inclusive care for individuals from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.
Outside of clinical work, Janice enjoys powerlifting, hiking, and spending time with her husband and daughter. Since relocating from Pennsylvania, she has enjoyed exploring Salt Lake City and embracing the connection between movement, nature, and personal wellness that she encourages in her own life and practice.
